Buffalo Bar at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge – one of Heineken’s Great Bars of the World.  It’s not often that a bar within a great, multi-award-winning establishment is given a distinction in its own right. If Buffalo Bar at the Victoria Falls Safari has peers, it certainly stands out as a rare achiever among them. In 1997, it was named one of the Great Bars of the World by top international beer brand Heineken. And with good reason!  Famed for its house specialties – a wide drinks selection, legendary pub menu, sumptuous snacks and convivial atmosphere, the Buffalo Bar is, literally, Victoria Falls’ favourite watering-hole. Enthusiasts acknowledge this famous cocktail bar has earned its name not only for its fabulous offerings, but also for its service – oftentimes described as impeccable.  Always patronized, the vibey Buffalo Bar is the hub of the lodge – it’s a relaxed spot to refresh and reflect on the joy of the moment: gorgeous views of pristine bush and the distant Zambezi River on the western horizon. The lodge’s central feature, a large waterhole, draws a variety  of game which Buffalo Bar patrons get to enjoy from the comfort of their barstools, at such amazingly close proximity the ‘need for binoculars is superfluous’ uttered Carol Thatcher, who visited the lodge on more than one occasion. The opportunity to savour a tasty treat whilst watching the waterhole is relished by guests, who also appreciate the Bar’s traditional roasted groundnuts and sumptuous snacks served daily.
