WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAND AND WATER BASED CAMPS?
When referring to Okavango Delta lodges, we have indicated if these
lodges are water-based, land-based or a combination of water and land-based.
The flood waters from the Okavango originate from the Kavango River
in the north, and dry up as the water moves south. The result is that
camps located in the permanent waterways offer only water-based activities,
while those in the south tend to offer only land-based activities,
and those centrally located provide a combination of both land and
water-based activities. Water flow is seasonal, so activities may
vary according to the season of travel.
