There are many wilderness trails and hikes which allow visitors to experience the area on foot. The beautiful landscape hides many important archaeological and cultural sites, most notably Mapungubwe – a world heritage site and Thulamela.
Highlights of the Limpopo are the Valley of the Olifants – a fruit bearing river valley and access point to the Kruger Park filled with wildlife, mountains, rivers, cultural and ethnic attractions; the Soutpansberg, a densely forested mountain range characterized by the mighty baobab tree.
Within this website, we have not included game reserves of Kruger National Park as part of the Limpopo, please click here to view Kruger Safari options.
