Spend 5 days exploring the mighty Victoria Falls and sublime grace of the nearby Chobe National Park and its immense Elephant populations, a perfect add-on to any Southern Africa vacation.
Day 1 & 2: Victoria Falls, The Smoke that Thunders
Upon your arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be met by a South Africa 365 representative and road transferred a short distance to your Victoria Falls safari lodge.
A wonder of the natural world, Victoria Falls, known as Mosi oa Tunya or the smoke that thunders, were named by explorer David Livingstone in 1855 after his queen. At 1708 metres wide and with drops of up to 107m into the gorge below, the mighty Zambezi river plunges at an average rate of 550,000 cubic metres every minute.
With helicopter flips, microlighting, abseiling, bungee jumping and elephant back rides, this is adventure country. On a gentler note, there are a variety of activities to suit calmer, perhaps more mature tastes, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, a visit to the Livingstone Museum or a cultural tour to Mkuni Village (most activities at additional cost)
Two overnights at in a hotel of your choice in Victoria Falls, on a bed and breakfast and including scheduled activities (Elephant back safaris and additional activities can be arranged at additional cost)
Day 3 & 4: Chobe National Park
After breakfast , a South Africa 365 representative will road transfer you approximately 1.5 hours to your Lodge on the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana.
The Chobe National Park offers safari travellers the opportunity to experience four different eco-systems and contrasting views of this African wilderness. Huge herds of migratory elephant move seasonally across the Chobe National Park, and the park has an abundance of major species and apex predators like lion, leopard and wild dog.
Days are spent in safari vehicles tracking wildlife, fishing for the feisty tiger fish or simply having sundowners aboard a boat on the Chobe River.
Two overnights at any of our Chobe Safari Lodges (including options in the Linyanti and Saviti Marsh area, your consultant will advise you which is best), on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities. (Tiger-fishing generally at additional expense)
Day 5
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kasane airport and bid farewell to your Chobe Elephants and Victoria Falls.
