On arrival in Cape Town you will be met and transferred to the luxury hotel of your choice. Cape Town is famous not only for its incredible levels of service but also for the breathtaking locations that it’s finest hotels are situated in. For truly luxrious hotels, we reccommend The Mount Nelson Hotel at the base of Table Mountain, the Cape Grace Hotel on its own private quay at the V&A Waterfront, or Ellernam House set on high up overlooking the Atlantic Seaboard. Apart from long days at the beach and exclusive VIP tours of the city and surrounds you will eat out at the finest restaurants on the continent – seafood and steaks cooked to perfection by world famous chef’s – and while away your evening hours in any number of lounges, cigar bars or stunning beachfront venues. Take a cruise around Chapman’s Peak – Africa’s most breathtaking mountain pass – or alternatively sped your evening on a sunset yacht cruise and watch the twinkle of the city’s lights over a glass of champagne and a few oysters. A tour of the winelands, South Africa’s premiere wine producing region, blends an array of taste, culture and beauty into an unforgettable sensation of the senses as gourmet meals are combined with fine wines and breathtaking vistas. This morning you will be taken to the Cape Town station to embark for Pretoria on the famous Rovos Rail for a 2 night journey – known to be the most luxurious train in the world . Since its establishment in 1989, Rovos Rail has earned an international reputation for its truly world class travel experiences. Step aboard the wood panelled coaches - classics remodelled and refurbished to mint condition - and enjoy fine cuisine in five-star luxury as some of the most varied scenery imaginable unfolds beyond the windows. Recapture the romance and atmosphere when privileged travellers experienced the magic and mystery of Africa in a relaxed and elegant fashion. Day 6 - 9: Classic big 5 Safari
On arrival in Pretoria you will be met and transferred to JHB airport for your direct flight to the Kruger area and the luxury lodge of your choice. You will fly directly into the game reserve and be transferred via 4x4 safari vehicle to your lodge. for luxurious safari lodges, we reccommend Singita, Londolozi, Ulusaba, Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge or Royal Malwane safari lodge. Your game viewing experience begins before you even land as you will be able to spot game from the air on arrival. Your typical day starts off early with a cup of coffee and biscuits before heading out into the bush to experience the wonders of Africa. Skilled rangers and open 4x4 safari vehicles will soon have you within an arms length of Africa’s wildest creatures. After the morning game drive it’s back to the lodge where a sumptuous breakfast awaits you and then the day is yours to relax around the pool, catch up on some rest time or reading, or simply have drinks on the deck while staring out into the bush. Late afternoon brings with it another game drive and the chance of seeing a whole different set of animals. Typically these drives carry on into the early stages of the night so there is always the chance of spotting some of the rarer nocturnal animals. Sundowners in the open bush will be remembered for years to come and back at the lodge for dinner exciting tales of the days adventures are swapped over a glass of fine South African wine and excellent meals.
