Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Dominated by Table Mountain it is surrounded by the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and ringed with fine white sandy beaches. Apart from its outdoor charms Cape Town entices visitors into its bosom with a wide choice of excellent restaurants, nightclubs and shopping malls such as the V&A Waterfront – a working harbour filled with a wonderful mix of shops, restaurants and exciting activities for all ages.

Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town and you will find yourself in the vineyards of South Africa’s premiere wine producing region, for 2 nights of culinary delights and a place to relax and rejuvenate body and soul.

Set amidst the splendour of the mountains and valleys of the Franshhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl area, your senses will be assailed by both splendid views and fine wines and cuisine. Explore the original cellars – dating back to the first farmers in the Cape – where you will be able to sample some of the world’s finest wines and learn about the intricate processes used to produce them. Leave room in your suitcase to take home some superb wines at staggeringly low prices as each tasting brings a superb new sensation to your palate.

Day 5 - 7: Whale Watching

After a relatively short and beautiful coastal drive you will arrive in Hermanus – the whale watching capital of the world.

During breeding season whales come in close to the shore to breed and nurture their young to provide you with unmatched views of these goliaths of the deep. (The season is from June to late November)

Boat trips, nature walks, beach tanning, sea-kayaks and many other activities are also on offer and once you’ve had you fill of whales for the day a trip into the harbour for some freshly caught seafood is a must.

Take a visit to the nearby Gansbaai - the heart of Great White territory. Shark cage diving is a safe yet terrifying way to come face to face with the most successful predator on earth – enquire with our consultants about booking a Great White Excursion.

Once your time is up in Hermanus it’s an hour’s drive back to Cape Town International airport to catch your connecting flight home and the end of your Whale Route and Winelands tour.
