Garden Route Adventure Activities
Please speak to your consultant about combining any of these activities with your Garden Route tour. If outdoor pursuits are what you look for in a holiday, the Garden Route will be sure not to disappoint.
- For the golf enthusiast, the Garden Route is famed for some of the world’s best golf courses. Test your skills at the home of the 2003 Presidents Cup at any one of Fancourts four golf courses, or play along the Knysna clifftops at Sparrebosch. The Garden Route is a golfer’s paradise with no less than 15 world class courses.
- For the adventure enthusiast, the Garden Route also offers it all. Try abseiling at The Knysna Heads, boat trips through The Heads, canoeing, mountain biking in the Knysna forest or horse riding, plus for those who enjoy a real thrill, the 216m world’s highest bungy jump at Bloukrans Bridge!
- For those looking for some more sedate pleasures, take a ferry ride across the estuary to the Featherbed Nature Reserve where a 4x4 drawn trailer takes you to the top of the Western Head or take the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe which leaves Knysna in the morning and arrives in George by lunchtime, with a return trip mid afternoon. Or take an excursion on a dolphin and whale cruise, offering some extreme close-ups of these fascinating creatures.
- For the kids, there is no better an outing than Knysna Elephant Park, which offers a rare and exciting opportunity to get close to these gentle giants. Then there is Monkeyland, the worlds only multi species free roaming primate sanctuary. For the simple pleasures, frolic in the warm waters and build sand castles on the beach.
