Skeleton Coast safarisare highly rewarding safari experience even though it is hard to imagine a more hostile environment. Here you will encounter magnificent landscapes, ranging from windswept dunes, to rugged canyons and extensive mountain ranges, not forgetting the sandy beaches along the coastline itself, broken only by huge, formidable rocky outcrops.
Here, survival is definitely for the fittest. Desert elephants, black rhinos, brown hyena and numerous other subspecies all compete for the available food, whilst the marine species thrive on the Benguela current’s highly nutrient rich waters.
The Skeleton Coast National Park
The Skeleton Coast National Park stretches from the Ugab river on its southern boundary to the Kunene river, which marks its northern limits. Other attractions on a skeleton coast safari include theclay castles of the Hoarisib, the salt pans near the Agate mountain, and one of the largest seal colonies in the world numbering tens of thousands of Cape fur seals at Cape Cross.
Running inland alongside the Skeleton Coast is Damaraland, another one of Namibia's most beautiful and scenic areas.
