general information on pembele villa
Pambele is a magnificent private beach home set in a 30,000 hectare private sanctuary. Completed in 2006, the vision was to create a sustainable eco property blending harmoniously with the Indian Ocean coastal landscape. Pambele is fully staffed and offers an unrivalled bush and beach experience.
The lodge has an extensive beachfront property for exclusive use where guests can enjoy almost total privacy and seclusion. It is situated on the northern tip of the beautiful and remote San Sebastian Peninsula in central southern Mozambique.
Guests will enjoy the space and independence of their own beachfront villa as well as time together with the full party at the central lodge with its generous infinity swimming pool, Dhow bar, dining and chill out areas.
The Pambele owner’s intention has been to give something back to the people of San Sebastion, to assist them in improving their quality of life and in conserving the landscape in which they live. The Sanctuary is also an ‘eco project’ with a fundamental objective to achieve light touch development without spoiling the wilderness character of the area.
The area is recognised internationally as a significant biodiversity ‘hot spot’ with a multitude of natural eco-systems all combining to form an exceptional wilderness area.

Pambele sleeps 14. The Lodge comprises a central main lodge and four individual villas - two on either side of the central lodge. The four accommodation villas are located two on either side of the central lodge:

DINING at pembele
Fresh seafood including the world famous Mozambique prawns, crab, lobster, octopus and sea fish is served regularly and often brought straight from the beach. The cuisine is simple and delicious using the freshest of ingredients. The chefs bake bread, croissants and muffins daily. Breakfast is a lavish affair with full cooked breakfast, an abundance of fresh fruit, homemade marmalades and jams, fresh fruit juices, pancakes, cereal, yoghurts and so on.
Lunch is light with salads, fish and quiche. This can be taken at the lodge or as a picnic on a deserted island or beach.
Canapés are served before dinner and often combine freshly caught fish transformed into sushi or similar delicacies.
A three course dinner is served. Guests can discuss the menus on arrival and young children can be served at an earlier time if preferred.
Pambele’s location requires advance planning and purchasing as most ingredients are brought to the Lodge by boat from Vilanculos or from even further afield. Special dietary requirements and preferences must be discussed in advance.
Meals served: breakfast, light lunch or picnic, sundowners and canapés and dinner. Meals are served in a variety of indoor and alfresco locations around the lodge, decking, beach and, islands as well as in the bush.
