When to Travel on a Namibia Safari Holiday
Namibia averages 300 days of sunshine a year! The climate is typical of a semi-desert country where droughts are a regular occurrence.
September to April belong to the summer months and can get exceptionally hot above 40 degrees centigrade, with the rainfall season ranging from October to April. Winter is cold and dry (from May – August). During winter months the coastal stretches may be plagued by east wind weather, resulting in extremely hot winds blowing the sand of the Namib Desert towards the Atlantic Ocean.
In the Etosha National Park, the dry Season is from April to October and the wet season is from November to April.The Namib Desert has a "wet" Season (Hot) is from September to April and the "dry" Season (Cooler) is from May to September. On the Skeleton Coast, summer is from October to April and the winter season is from May to September.
