DAY 1 – 4: MADIKWE GAME RESERVE

Collect your group-B rental car, and drive to Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge situated in the world famous Madikwe Game Reserve.

Located less than 4 hours from Johannesburg, Madikwe Game Reserve is malaria-free and offers spectacular game-viewing opportunities, including the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo), as well as over 300 resident and migrant species of birds.

Your Madikwe safari starts with an early morning game drive. Relax as your ranger guides you through the bush on a custom made open 4 x4 safari vehicle, in search of the Big 5 and the smaller secrets of nature.

Return from the excitement of the bush to a sumptuous breakfast or brunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the pool or catching up on some rest time.

In the late afternoon, head out again on a sundowner safari and spot the more nocturnal creatures who rule the bush at night time. You will stop to watch the spectacular African sun set, while enjoying your favourite refreshing drink. Return to the lodge in time for dinner and indulge in the finest Pan-African cuisine with your hosts in the open air boma, and share your day’s adventures, while you enjoy a night cap around the fire.
