General Information:

Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge is located in the heart of the Pilanesberg National Park, an easy drive of 175km from Johannesburg, 3 km from the local airport and a mere 8km from Sun City. Legacy Hotels and Resorts International has three of its luxury bush lodges - Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge, Tshukudu Bush Lodge and Bakubung Bush Lodge - situated in the heart of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park. Just two hours' drive from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg, this is the perfect setting for a relaxing family weekend away or a corporate conference. The Pilanesberg National Park is located in the North West Province of South Africa, west of Pretoria and is administered by the North West Parks Board. Unlike most other national parks in South Africa, the Pilanesberg is not managed by South African National Parks Board. At 572 km2 it is the fourth largest national park in South Africa.

Studio Family Rooms (STO) - Each Studio Twin room has two double beds and a sleeper couch. To ensure your comfort and convenience, all Studio Family rooms have individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DStv, direct-dialling telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multiplugs and electronic safes. Minibars are available on request.

Studio Double Rooms (STU + STD) - All Studio double rooms have one king size bed. All Studio Double rooms have individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DStv, direct-dialling telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multiplugs and electronic safes. Minibars are available on request.

Twin Rooms (STN) - Each of our Twin rooms have two single beds, individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DStv, direct-dialling telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multiplugs and electronic safes. Minibars are available on request.

Executive Studio Rooms (STE) - Pamper yourself in one of our Executive Studio rooms, where you will find two double beds and a minibar as a standard feature. Complete with the full list of other standard features offered by Kwa Maritane, each room also has individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DStv, direct-dialling telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multiplugs and electronic safes.

Executive King Studio Rooms (STK) - The ultimate in indulgent luxury - in the middle of wildest Africa. Luxuriate in a king-size bed, sample the minibar, while taking advantage of the full range of standard modcons on offer with us, including individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DSTV, direct-dialling telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multiplugs and electronic safes.

Dining:

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner in The Kwa Maritane Restaurant, overlooking the waterhole "The Rock", and the magnificent granite formations, within the Park. Or you could sample something from the terrace or "in room dining" menus. On Saturday and Wednesday evenings (weather permitting) dine al fresco on traditional South African fare in our Bush Boma

Activities:

With a rich array of southern African wildlife (including the Big Five) and most of the animal species found in southern Africa, including lion, white and black rhino, buffalo, leopard, hyena, giraffe and crocodile, you can be assured of an experience of a lifetime. To make your stay memorable we suggest that you include a game drive and bush braai in your agenda. The bush braai is held in our boma, situated 20 minutes from the lodge, within the Pilanesberg National Park.

Bush Braais
The bush braai is held in our boma within the Pilanesberg National Park. The menu consists of traditional South African dishes cooked on the coals. Bush braais are held on Wednesday and Saturday evenings for all hotel and timeshare guests and operate, weather permitting, all year round. Apart from Wednesdays and Saturdays, other drive/braai combinations can be arranged on other evenings suject to a minimum of 30 people.
