Private Game Reserves near Kruger
Along the Western border of the Kruger National Park you’ll find a number of smaller private game reserves, including the exclusive and prestigious Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. They’re widely regarded as being part of the Kruger Park, even though, technically they are completely separate.
That said, it is important to note that these private reserves share unfenced borders with the Kruger Park itself, so the wildlife are free to roam where they choose, ensuring that your sightings in the private reserves are no less spectacular than in the park itself.
The difference in safari experience between the Kruger Park and the surrounding private reserves lies in the range of activities available to you. Activities like walking safaris, night game drives and off-road driving are not permitted in the Kruger National Park South Africa, but are up for grabs in the private reserves.
Kruger Accommodation
For the ultimate Kruger safari, we recommend a stay at one of the private game reserves. Aside from the obvious luxury benefit when it comes to accommodation, your wildlife experience is far more rewarding with a qualified ranger and tracker. While self-drive holidays in the Kruger Park are available, you do run the risk of losing out on the extra information and superior knowledge that a guide or ranger can provide, not to mention the expert eye that rangers possess in spotting and tracking down the more elusive species.
Kruger accommodation rangers from stylish thatched lodges to luxury tented camps, so there’s something to suit any and all tastes. The private reserves offer superior accommodation and service.
