Kruger Luxury Walking Safaris

A South Africa 365 representative will meet you at Kruger Mpumulanga Airport for onwards road transfer to Plains Camp, for the start of a your 4 day Kruger Walking safari.

Our walking safaris let you discover nature’s hidden wonders in specially tailored walking trails through a 12,000 ha private wilderness concession in the Kruger National Park.

Walking Safaris are the most rewarding way to discover the secrets of the wilderness. Here, two highly qualified and armed guides will share their wealth of bush knowledge with you – from the identification of animals, trees, grasses, insects and birds to the medicinal uses of plants, folklore and basic tracking and survival skills.

Your base will be at the luxury tented camp, Plains Camp, for two nights. Plains Camp offers 4 comfortably furnished African explorer style tents, en suite with hot running water. Here, the morning activity will always be a walking safari, and the afternoon activity will be a walking safari or game drive.

One night will be spent at the ‘sleepout’. This is a totally unique experience, guests wanting something different will be able to sleep on elevated wooden platforms 4metres high where the night will be spent sleeping outdoors under the stars!

The wildlife concession shares a 15km unfenced boundary with the famous Mala Mala and Sabi Sand reserve with an abundance of wildlife moving freely between the two reserves. The concession is noted as an excellent game viewing area and good sightings can be expected. Characteristic species include lion, elephant, white rhino, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, zebra, hyena, waterbuck, hippopotamus, crocodile, wildebeest, kudu and many other mammals and species.

Following 4 days of outdoor safari bliss, you will be transported back to Kruger Mpumulanga Airport for the end of your Kruger Walking Safari.

• Any combination of multi-day walks, game drives or sleep-outs can be arranged.

• Add-on luxury accommodation is available at the Rhino Post Safari Lodge.

• Sleep Outs: Sleep outs are an extra activity and will be at no extra cost - prior arrangement required. Available to both Rhino Post and Plains Camp Guests - min of 4 people for Sleep out from Rhino Post Safari Lodge, no minimum required for a sleep out from Plains Camp. (‘sleepouts’ are weather dependent)

• Child Policy: We regret that unfortunately we cannot accommodate children under the age of 12 years old at Plains Camp, Sleep-outs or on Walking Safaris. We can accommodate children under the age of 12 years at Rhino Post Safari Lodge, they however cannot participate in any walking activities.

• Plains Camp has four, luxury African explorer-style tents overlooking the spectacular Timbitene plain and waterhole. The camp is built in authentic pioneer tradition and is raised on wooden decks. Stylishly decorated, the 8-bed camp offers the tranquility of a 19th century naturalist’s retreat. An Africana book collection and antique treasures are reminiscent of a golden era.
