The advantages of choosing a private Kruger lodge experience:
Game drives: You pay for much more than just the quality of the bedroom in a private Kruger lodge. The game rangers and trackers taking you on safari know the area and animals intimately and here you have the best chance of spotting wildlife. Rangers often work in conjunction with other game vehicles, sharing the location of events such as a lion kill, and tracking animals off road. Rangers have incredible knowledge of the wilderness, and impart these pearls of wildlife insight to you while on safari!
Wilderness and animal species: the majority of the private game reserves we sell have an open-fence policy with the Kruger National Park. Animals are free to roam throughout the extended area, so there is very little difference between staying in the Kruger National Park versus a private game reserve. Only private offer sunset game drives which extend into the evening, and therefore offer the added opportunity of seeing nocturnal animals.
Architecture and design: Modern Kruger game lodges set the benchmark as to architecture and design. Either blending seamlessly into the bush or standing out as an architectural marvel, we will choose a space for you to peacefully co-habit in the African wilderness.
Cost: Often cost is the major deterrent when deciding on a private Kruger lodge. If you break the experience down, prices quoted for a private Kruger lodge experience include the accommodation, all meals (including teas) and two game drives with expert rangers daily (certain lodges will also include alcoholic beverages). Most lodges have a staff ratio of maximum two guests per staff member, so service is generally world-class. When all of these factors are considered, private Kruger game lodges can offer very good value.
What you can expect on a typical day on safari at a Kruger Private Game Lodge
An early morning wake-up call from your safari ranger and a steaming cup of coffee will welcome you to another day in the Kruger bush, before heading out in open-top safari vehicles to experience the wonders of Kruger National Park.
Once on safari, your ranger imparts safari wisdom to you as you get to understand nature, all the while your Shangaan tracker (bravely sitting on the bonnet of the safari vehicle) guides you off-road in pursuit of Africa’s wildest animals. After the morning game drive it’s back to the Kruger lodge, where a sumptuous breakfast awaits you and then the day is yours to relax around the pool, catch up on some rest time or reading, or simply have drinks on the deck while staring out into the bush. Late afternoon brings with it another game drive and the chance of seeing a whole different set of animals. These drives carry on into the early stages of the night so there is always the chance of spotting some of the rarer nocturnal animals.
Sundowners in the open bush will be remembered for years to come and, back at the lodge for dinner, exciting tales of the days adventures are swapped over a glass of fine South African wine and excellent meals as you slip further into African bush routine.
