Accommodation:

Later in the afternoon, you might want to venture down to Genot, the estate's stunning new Franschhoek restaurant. Nestled amongst the vineyards, the restaurant features an inviting a la carte menu as well as picnic baskets brimming with all kinds of goodies that can be enjoyed at the pretty picnicking spots along the peaceful Franschhoek River that borders the estate. The main house has been divided into six luxuriously decorated suites, each one boasting a private balcony within easy reach of the orchard. Here you can sip a glass of flavoursome wine while reaching over to pluck a piece of sun ripened fruit as you watch the sun go down. The Owners want people to remember that they are on a working farm, a living enterprise, not merely a showy estate and lets their animals run free. The restaurant's clientele will have to contend with the fact that there will always be some tortoises and chicken underfoot. The dècor will employ plenty of outdoor space and wicker lounge furniture. The owners hav also commissioned a Tulbach cheese-maker to create special cheeses to complement the Klein Genot wines. The food end of things will be left in the capable hands of the two very capable chefs on site. A Franschhoek Guest House like no other, Klein Genot is sure to steal your heart.

If elegant dining with the glamorous ambience of yesteryear is what you seek, you have come to the right Franschhoek restaurant. Although relatively new on the gastronomic scene in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, here at Genot we realise that it is important to move with the times, which is why we have shifted our culinary focus slightly to bring you an even more exciting dining experience.The Owners have always thought it a pity that the stylish Grill Room concept that held sway in the 1970’s had died out and, when they sat down to decide in which direction to steer Genot next, decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into the notion and use it as inspiration for their Franschhoek restaurant’s reinvention. Keeping in line with The Grill Room theme, Genot now also offers an extensive range of cocktails, aged cognacs and fine single malt whiskeys to be enjoyed at the end of your meal. Venture to the cigar bar after dinner and partake in this elegant ritual that will always conjure up images of Old Hollywood. Alternatively, skip dinner and simply join us for a nightcap to round off the perfect evening out in the Franschhoek Wine Valley.
