With a long and proud history of excellence in all areas – from the luxurious rooms and suites to the tantalising cuisine and personalised service – Jatinga offers guests the very best of Mpumalanga.

Accommodation:

We have 16 Superior rooms and four Luxury suites (one being the romantic Honeymoon suite) at the Lodge all of which have been tastefully furnished in different styles - Colonial, Victorian, Provencal, French Country, African Colonial and English Country as well as our recently completed Orchard and Forest rooms – and offer guests luxurious comfort and secluded privacy. The six new Orchard and Forest rooms form a little village on their own and, as their names suggest, some have a view over our citrus orchard while the others look into our pine forest.  Luxury Suites - An English Country garden theme will greet you in two of the suites, the only two that boast dual open fire places that can be enjoyed in the lounge or the bedroom! These suites also have magnificent Cherry wood four poster beds and secluded outdoor showers. The Colonial suite will transport you into a bygone era with its checkered tiled bathroom floor and ball-and-claw bath. Sound systems are standard in our suites as is the sherry decanter, the contents of which are yours to enjoy with our compliments!! Superior Rooms - The 16 Superior rooms are furnished in different styles, each one offering levels of comfort and luxury. Concrete baths dominate the bathrooms of our Provencal rooms while step up baths and hand made basins feature prominently in the French Country rooms. Outdoor showers are “added extras” in most of our rooms and will entice you to experience the magic of showering under the Milky Way. Honeymoon Suite - A truly romantic, open-plan experience complete with inviting four poster bed, private garden with outdoor shower and plunge pool, sound system, sherry for your enjoyment, red roses and love in the air all around you ...

Dining:

Kick off with a cold selection, presented on a three tier, wrought iron breakfast stand. Then it's onto the cooked version, your preference in eggs be they scrambled, fried or in omelette form accompanied by all the regular breakfast favourites like bacon, sausages, mushrooms and the like. Unless of course you’d prefer to sample our Chef’s special of the day. Jatinga has always had a reputation for fine dining, open seven days a week, will not disappoint.

Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and at Jatinga it is the first most important meal of the day! Whatever your preference may be, yogurt and muesli or Eggs Florentine, you’ll find it on our breakfast menu. Lunch can be enjoyed al fresco at any one of our outdoor dining spots with the many different birds that call Jatinga home as your lunch time companions. Dinners are an occasion at the Lodge, preferably an occasion that begins with a pre dinner drink in the Lord Milner, followed, if you choose, by a visit to our wine cellar to select a bottle of hand-picked estate wine. Then it’s onto the business at hand, ordering your evening meal. Our culinary team at the lodge have put together a varied and tempting menu with chefs specials changing daily, that will delight the most discerning pallet, and that is complimented by a variety of superb South African wines. The restaurant is a quietly elegant room with uninterrupted views over the gardens which themselves offer secluded – and often romantic! – outdoor al fresco dining options. Engage is some theatre of the mind and picture your table, set up under a magnificent flowering Pride of India tree that is also home to a family of Olive Sunbirds... scrumptious cuisine and professional, personal service will ensure that your meal is a memorable one.

Activities:

LORD MILNER PUB - The “Lord Milner” pub can be found just off the lounge in the lodge’s main building and its vibrant coral red walls are as warm and welcoming as our barman’s smile! Whether a gin and tonic is your preference or a glass of chilled estate wine, you’ll be well looked after in the “Lord Milner”.

OUTDOOR DELIGHTS - The secluded pool deck with its inviting pool is there for guests’ enjoyment. Our elevated wooden deck overlooks the White River and is a great spot for sundowners. Bird life abounds at Jatinga and a comprehensive bird check list can be found in all our rooms. There are two leisurely walks along the White River for those who wish to explore the grounds a little more.

WINE CELLAR - Dining in the wine cellar is an experience in itself with red wine as your silent but tempting dinner companions.
