Grootberg Lodge is perched on the edge of the Grootberg Plateu in Namibia, providing spectacular views over a network of soaring canyons. Set in the pristine wilderness of Damaraland, Grootberg Lodge offers comfortable accommodation in a stunning setting.

Beautifully constructed out of local red granite, Grootberg Lodge blends in effortlessly with its hauntingly arid environment. Decorated with batik paintings and comfy sofas in neutral colours, the lodge has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Grootberg Lodge is situated on a large private concession which provides habitat for a variety of rare species of animals and plants. Guests can enjoy spectacular viewing opportunities of desert elephant, black rhino, lion, mountain zebra and giraffe.

Rooms

Grootberg Lodge offers accommodation in 12 rock and thatch chalets. Fitted with either twin or double beds, all of the chalets have an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet, and tea and coffee making facilities. Ensuring your comfort, mosquito nets are fitted to the doors and windows and every room has a private deck which offers wonderful views over the Klip River Valley.

Dining

Grootberg Lodge offers local and international delicacies which can be enjoyed in the main lodge’s restaurant or al fresco. Start the day with a buffet breakfast with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and breads, and enjoy light lunches such as salads and sarmies beside the swimming pool. Relax with refreshing sundowners at the cosy bar, followed by a sumptuous three-course meal served for dinner.

Activities

Grootberg Lodge offers a wide variety of activities for guests to enjoy on their Namibia safari including, guided walks on top of the plateau, horse-riding sundowners, elephant tracking, Himba village visits, scenic drives, walks to the Klip River Springs, rhino tracking and horseback safaris.
