Dating back to 1890, Franschhoek Country House is a restored manor house and former perfumery. Maintaining an air of classic country living, Franschkoek Country House offers honeymooners, families and discerning travellers luxurious accommodation in a peaceful setting.

Rooms

Franschhoek Country House comprises 14 luxurious rooms as well as an additional 12 exclusive Villa suites. Individually appointed, rooms offer hand-crafted furniture, and comfortable lush duvets with percale cotton linen. Most of the rooms lead onto balconies or private patios. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, telephone, TV, mini-bar, fan, safe, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

The room types are:

Standard rooms: Located in the original manor house, these charming rooms have a cosy lounge area as well as a private balcony.

Luxury rooms: Located separately, these luxurious rooms have a lounge area as well as a fire place and under carpet heating. Most luxury rooms offer a private patio or balcony with beautiful views of the fountains and gardens.

Garden cottages: These spacious double-storey cottages consist of a downstairs en-suite bedroom with a private patio area, and a lounge upstairs with a fold-out bed and a balcony offering a view over the surrounding vineyards.

Villa suites: These luxurious suites boast a spacious bedroom, separate lounge with sitting area, an entertainment area and two private balconies, offering spectacular views.

Dining

Breakfast is served in the airy, upstairs breakfast room, and a la carte lunches can be enjoyed on the magnificent fountain terrace. For dinner, indulge in modern French cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients at the Monneaux Restaurant. Fine South African wines can be enjoyed in the cosy wine bar or underground cellar.

Activities

Enjoy a lazy afternoon and relax beside one of the two swimming pools, or pamper yourself with a range of treatments including massages, reflexology, facials, manicures and pedicures at the Treatment Room.
