Fish River Lodge is perched on the rim of the Fish River Canyon, offering luxury Namibia accommodation in a magnificent setting. Situated a mere 8 meters from the edge of the world’s second largest canyon, Fish River Lodge provides spectacular views of one of Namibia’s natural wonders.

Surrounded by a grove of ancient Quiver trees, the minimalist architecture of Fish River Lodge pays homage to its natural rugged terrain. Boasting a rich blend of traditional and modern design, the lodge is decorated with locally handcrafted furniture and accessories made by indigenous San and Nama communities.

Fish River Lodge offers spectacular viewing opportunities of Namibia’s wildlife who have adapted to life in the desert, including the rare mountain zebra, klipspringer, oryx and kudu, as well as many species of bird including the black eagle.

Rooms

Fish River Lodge offers accommodation in 20 spacious chalets sufficiently distanced, ensuring absolute privacy. The chalets are covered with dry-packed stone walls and fitted with roof top windows which allow guests to watch shooting stars. Each chalet has a separate shower, dressing facility, double basins, toilet and fan whilst an additional outdoor shower offers guests the opportunity to experience oneness with nature. An outdoor bed is also available to guests who would like to sleep under the African skies.

Dining

Start your day with a sumptuous breakfast buffet of cereals, jams, juice and hot dishes made to order, and enjoy a light lunch consisting of salads, frittatas and pasta dishes beside the lodge’s swimming pool.
Unwind with sundowners on the deck, followed by a three-course candlelit dinner or dine on delicious home-cooked meals next to the crackling fire.

Activities

Guests at Fish River Lodge can explore the magnificent canyon with activities such as walking trails, guided hikes, scenic sundowner drives, canyon drives and visits to the ancient pictoglyph sites. Shop for local Namibian arts and crafts at the lodge’s curio shop and end the day’s activities with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool.
