Emily Moon River Lodge is an exclusive river lodge, nestled among milkwood trees and fynbos. Providing privacy and endless tranquillity, Emily Moon River Lodge offers the perfect base for a peaceful Garden Route holiday.

Perched on the high banks of the winding Bitou River in Plettenberg Bay, Emily Moon River Lodge overlooks the wetland valley – offering spectacular views of the distant mountains. Surrounded by indigenous vegetation, Emily Moon River Lodge attracts an abundance of birdlife.

This luxurious river lodge presents honeymooners and discerning travellers with an intimate retreat - offering a romantic and mystical atmosphere. Boasting wonderfully chic decor, Emily Moon River Lodge is filled with carved portals and African and Indian artefacts - creating an exotic feel.

Rooms

Emily Moon River Lodge offers accommodation in eight luxurious chalets, including a family unit and a honeymoon suite.  Individually decorated in an African contemporary style, chalets offer king, queen or twin beds, fully appointed bathrooms, spacious living areas and a private wooden deck, overlooking the spectacular Bitou River. All chalets are equipped with under floor heating, mini-bars, satellite TV, fans and fireplaces.

Dining

Emily Moon River Lodge’s restaurant offers an eclectic menu prepared by a gourmet chef, and paired with an extensive wine list. Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast on the deck, al fresco lunches beside the pool, and a romantic candlelit dinner at Emily’s Restaurant. Cocktails and sundowners can be enjoyed at the lodge’s vibey bar, or on the sundowner deck whilst viewing the magnificent sunset.

Activities

Cool off on warm summer days in one of the two swimming pools, or paddle up the river in one of the canoes, available at the lodge. For a more strenuous exercise guests can make use of the mountain bikes which can be ridden in the area or taken to the nearby forest trails. Emily Moon River Lodge also offers access to a wide variety of activities including, scuba diving, snorkelling, golf, windsurfing, hiking, bicycle touring, sky diving, fishing, horse riding and caving.
