General Information

Doro Nawas Camp is a luxury tented camp situated in the ruggedly beautiful Damaraland area. Boasting a mesmerizing desert setting, Doro Nawas Camp offers guests a fantastic place to experience the past and present of Africa.

Set on a magnificent terrain, Doro Nawas Camp provides an unspoilt panoramic view of its diverse and dramatic landscape, which varies from flattop outcrops, dry riverbeds, interesting canyons to savannah and grassland vistas.

Offering the ultimate safari experience, this arid environment is home to desert-adapted elephant, gemsbok, springbok, kudu, steenbok and a variety of other species including occasional sightings of the endangered black rhino, brown hyena, bat-eared fox and black-backed jackal.

Rooms

Doro Nawas Camp offers accommodation in 16 spacious chalets. Built from a combination of local stone and canvas walls, each thatched chalet has an open-plan design. A large set of sliding doors opens out onto an outdoor shower and private veranda – perfect for enjoying soothing desert views. All rooms offer either double or twin beds and are equipped with a ceiling fan, torch, insect repellent and complimentary soaps, shampoos, body lotion and hand cream. The en-suite bathroom is sectioned off by stone and canvas dividers and fitted with a flush toilet, shower and twin washbasins, each with its own large mirror. Doro Nawas Camp also offers a family unit.

Dining

Meals at Doro Nawas Camp are served buffet style and can be taken in either the indoor or outdoor dining areas. Start your day with a sumptuous breakfast, and enjoy a lazy lunch beside the swimming pool. End off the day’s activities with a soothing sundowner on the rooftop terrace, followed by dinner which is announced with singing and dancing from the staff and can be enjoyed by candlelight or under the African skies.

Activities

Guests at Doro Nawas Camp can enjoy fantastic activities including guided nature drives in open Land Rovers, bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, star gazing and trips to visit the ancient bushman rock art at Twyfelfontein. Spend the day at leisure and lounge beside the swimming pool, or wander through the curio shop and small gallery at Doro Nawas Camp.

Doro Nawas Camp is located on the edge of the dry Aba Huab River in Damaraland, Namibia. Situated on an elevated site, Doro Nawas Camp offers endless views of its spectacular picturesque surroundings.
