This is also the home of the oldest hotel in Southern Africa - the Victoria Falls hotel which is more than 100 years old. It may be the oldest but it's one of the swankiest, and packed with genuine antiques and fascinating insights into African colonial life at its peak.
This town is widely respected as one of the adventure capitals of the world. The bungee jump from the railway bridge is one of the world's highest and most awesome, as "victims" plunge headlong towards the white water of the boiling Zambezi as it emerges from below the falls. All of the adrenalin-pumping activities are available, along with some slightly different ones. For example, there are lion encounters, where you can walk and interact with these enigmatic big cats, and elephant-back safaris which offer you the chance to see lion, wild dog, buffalo, sable and many other species from the backs of trained, hand-reared orphaned African elephants.
