VICTORIA FALLS

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwean side of the falls enjoys a year-round rush of water making it the best for viewing the magnificence of this world heritage site. After years of hardship caused by Zimbabwe's political unrest, tourism is once again on the increase in the picturesque and historic town of Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls accommodation offerings present the perfect location from which to explore
This is also the home of the oldest hotel in Southern Africa - the Victoria Falls hotel which is more than 100 years old. It may be the oldest but it's one of the swankiest, and packed with genuine antiques and fascinating insights into African colonial life at its peak.

This town is widely respected as one of the adventure capitals of the world. The bungee jump from the railway bridge is one of the world's highest and most awesome, as "victims" plunge headlong towards the white water of the boiling Zambezi as it emerges from below the falls. All of the adrenalin-pumping activities are available, along with some slightly different ones. For example, there are lion encounters, where you can walk and interact with these enigmatic big cats, and elephant-back safaris which offer you the chance to see lion, wild dog, buffalo, sable and many other species from the backs of trained, hand-reared orphaned African elephants.
