Chobe Chilwero is an elegant 5-star lodge, set in the heart of the Botswana wilderness – offering the ultimate luxury safari experience. Boasting breathtaking vistas as a backdrop and magnificent sunsets, Chobe Chilwero Lodge lies in one of the most enchanting places in Africa.

‘Chilwero’ is literally translated in the local language of Setswana as ‘place of high view’- an accurate description as this luxurious lodge is nestled above the Chobe River, offering uninterrupted panoramic views across the islands and flood plains.

Chobe Chilwero Lodge borders the Chobe National Park, home to the largest concentration of elephants, as well as an abundance of hippo, buffalo, antelope and lion which may be spotted coming to the river for a drink.

Rooms

Chobe Chilwero offers 15 luxurious stone and thatched cottages, 6 king-size and 9 twin-bedded. The individually designed cottages are decorated in light fabrics and African woods, with echoes of the colonial safari era. All cottages feature sunken handcrafted baths, indoor and outdoor showers, a private garden with a hammock and a ‘sala’ or private balcony – offering beautiful views of the Chobe River. Ensuring your comfort, all rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, hairdryer, mosquito net, mini-bar, ceiling fan and an in-room safe.

Dining

Meals at Chobe Chilwero are a delicious eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies, lovingly prepared by the expert culinary staff and served in the dining area, which is linked to a spectacular outdoor viewing deck – perfect for viewing the African sunset. Top off your sumptuous meals by sampling the finest South African and European wines, housed in the well-stocked wine cellar. Enjoy High Teas in the afternoon, served on the lawn under the shade of the trees.

Activities

Chobe Chilwero offers game drives in customized open 4x4 game viewing vehicles, and water safaris in specially adapted safari motorboats. View the spectacular sunsets on the Chobe River with a sundowner cruise. Fishing excursions are also available.
