Just 7 kilometres from the world heritage site of Victoria Falls, lies the rural Mukuni Village – home of the Leya people. In existence since the eleventh century, the village has a population of approximately 7000 and is still ruled by its traditional healer, His Royal Highness Chief Mukuni.

On your Chief Mukuni’s Village Visit you will get a unique opportunity to see how the local people live in a working village. A member of the village will show you around the village homes and Chief Mukuni’s palace. On your visit you’ll be able to sample traditional beer and food, and see how traditional huts are built and decorated, take a look inside, meet the residents and see the locals at work.
Don’t forget to take some local currency with you, and shop for souvenirs of your Victoria Falls holiday at the village’s developing curios market, selling intricate wood carvings, stoneware, jewellery and baskets.
