Benguerra Lodge lies along the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, presenting a unique African island paradise. Merged into a natural acacia forest bordering Benguerra Bay, Benguerra Lodge is encircled by silver beaches and impressive coral reefs, offering the ultimate Mozambique beach holiday for families and honeymooners.

Benguerra Lodge provides exclusivity in a tranquil setting with wonderful opportunities for viewing an abundance of birdlife and marine life, including fresh water crocodiles, the endangered Dugong, giant trevally, sailfish, marlin and approximately 140 bird species.

Boasting a rich East African/Arabic feel, Benguerra Lodge is decorated in earthy, Moroccan colours with terracotta walls and thick fabrics in rich reds and vibrant oranges, bringing the African bush to the island.

Rooms

Benguerra Lodge offers accommodation in 10 ‘casitas’, 2 cabanas and a luxurious villa – each boasting unique characteristics and attractions.

Casitas: The Casitas are set along the beach, offering a home away from home feel. These spacious and luxurious suites are equipped with a queen-size bed with mosquito net, tastefully appointed lounge area, private deck with plunge pool and an outdoor dining gazebo – perfect for starlit dinners.

Cabanas: The Cabanas are set on the edge of the beach, offering guests the chance to experience the ultimate island retreat. These elegant suites are equipped with a queen-size bed and mosquito net, large bathroom with bath, shower and outdoor shower, overhead fan, private deck with Jacuzzi/plunge poll and sun loungers, mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities.

Villa Chubuene: Set away from the rest of the lodge, Villa Chubuene offers unsurpassed exclusivity and privacy – perfect for honeymooners and families. This 2-bedroomed villa has direct access to the beach and is equipped with mosquito nets and overhead fans, en-suite bathrooms with beautiful copper baths, outdoor showers with intricate mosaic inlays, intimate lounge and dining area, private wooden deck, swimming pool and a personal chef for your dining pleasure.

Dining

Enjoy traditional Mozambican cuisine, Portuguese flavours and a variety of delicious dishes that are fresh from the sea including delicacies such as prawns, crab and crayfish. Meat dishes such as beef and lamb are also on offer. Breakfast and lunch are buffet affairs, while dinner is a set menu.
