Bazaruto Lodge is stretched along the beautiful Island of Bazaruto, deservedly known as the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean.’ Set amongst tropical gardens, overlooking turquoise waters and idyllic beaches, Bazaruto Lodge offers the perfect antidote to the daily stresses of city life.

Situated on a beautiful bay, Bazaruto Lodge boasts a tranquil paradise setting, complemented by impressive coral reefs enriched with a stunning diversity of tropical fish which abound in this sub-tropical eco-system - the perfect leisure destination for honeymooners and nature lovers.

Marine species at Bazaruto include dolphins, dugongs, humpback whales, marine turtles, and while the freshwater lakes in the area are home to crocodiles. There are also numerous opportunities for bird watching including flamingo, Fish eagle, Olive bee eater, African Marsh harrier, Montague harrier, osprey and sunbird can be spotted in the area.

Rooms

Bazaruto Lodge has 40 thatched bungalows, charmingly designed with African decor and a blend of bright colours, offering the perfect tropical island atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, safety deposit box, tea/coffee making facilities, laundry service, satellite TV, private open air shower, outdoor courtyard with wooden furniture, and an en-suite bathroom with bath and complimentary toiletries.

There are 13 standard rooms with twin or queen beds, offering beautiful views of the lush gardens, and 27 superior rooms with king or queen beds, offering direct access to the beach. The honeymoon chalet provides the perfect retreat for honeymooners or couples looking to rekindle their love, while the interconnecting rooms are ideal for families.

Dining

Meals are served at Bazaruto Lodge’s Flamingo Restaurant, offering specialties such as fish, seafood and grills. Enjoy a sumptuous buffet breakfast and for lunch, enjoy light meals served beside the pool or have a picnic at the beach. After a busy day of exploring the island, unwind with tropical cocktails served at the Sunset Bar. Dinner is announced by the sound of African drums inviting you to savour the Mozambican and international flavours which are served a-la-carte and as a buffet.

Activities

Explore the island and the range of activities on offer including diving, snorkelling, shore, fly and offshore fishing, island hopping trips, sunset trips by Land Rover, boat or local dhow, bird watching, water-skiing and wake boarding. If you prefer to stay at the lodge, the games parlour offers lots of entertainment with ping-pong, billiard, darts and table games.
