Baines’ Camp is set in a lush green paradise, surrounded by a myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus and a grove of shaded trees. Situated in the heart of the African wilderness, Baines’ Camp offers an exclusive oasis for those wishing to experience the true wilds of the Okavango Delta.
Nestled on the edge of the undeviating waters of River Boro, Baines’ Camp is set on a 260 000 acre private concession bordering the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve. The area is home to a large elephant population, and guests may enjoy spectacular views of the gentle giants and a variety of wildlife surrounding Baines’ Camp.
Built from commercially grown wood and recycled tin cans, this exclusive eco-friendly lodge provides accommodation in a tranquil and serene surrounding. Evoking an atmosphere of classic Africa, Baines’ Camp is decorated with antique furniture complemented by colonial-era luxury and offers an intimate African experience.
Rooms
Baines’ Camp features five tented suites set on elevated platforms - offering expansive views over the Boro River. The spacious bedrooms offer a luxurious four-poster bed with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era – perfect for honeymooners. The four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice to slumber under the African stars. All rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, in-room safe, mini-bar, ceiling fan and a private wooden deck that allows you to enjoy the African beauty from the privacy of your own suite.
Dining
There are no set meal times at Baines’ Camp. Breakfasts, brunches and lunches are prepared and served to suit your activities and personal preferences. Bush enthusiasts do not need to return to camp for lunch, delicious picnic meals and snacks can be prepared and packed for you. Enjoy a truly African outdoor dining experience in the large veranda-style dining area while indulging in gourmet cuisine complemented by vintage wines.
Activities
Guests may explore the spectacular varied wildlife surrounding Baines’ Camp by land or water with activities such as guided game drives, locally made mokoros (dug-out canoe) and motorised boat safaris. Experience the bush on foot on a walking safari or for a lazy afternoon, tan beside the refreshing swimming pool. Spend the day with three friendly elephants and experience personal interaction.

Baines’ Camp is located on the southern edge of the Okavango Delta. Situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi Game Reserve, Baines’ Camp is superb for game viewing and birding.
