TOUR OUTLINE

You will be collected from your Cape Town hotel or guest house and driven from Cape Town on the N1 national road, through the scenic Hex River Valley to the private Aquila Game Reserve.

Upon your arrival you will be served with welcome drinks in the reception area, followed by a hearty full course buffet breakfast in the restaurant.

After breakfast, you will depart on a 2 to 3 hour exploration of the pristine Karoo game reserve in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, accompanied by an experienced guide who will share inside-story facts of your surroundings. Aquila Game Reserve is home to a variety of indigenous and re-introduced animals, offering prime game viewing opportunities of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as zebra, black wildebeest, klipspringer, duiker, greybuck, and ostrich. On the game drive, stops are made at ancient rock art sites where you’ll be able to view bushman rock art which dates back thousands of years.

Return to the Aquila Safari Lodge in time for a sumptuous buffet lunch served in the African boma restaurant, followed by a tour to the Karoo Ostrich Farm. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the swimming pool or shop for a souvenir of your safari at the well-stocked curio shop.

At approximately 15h30 you will depart Aquila and transfer back to Cape Town.
