General Information

Ant’s Nest is tucked in a natural amphitheatre on a private game reserve. The original homestead offers guests an intimate and exclusive stay in a relaxed and authentic African atmosphere. Providing a home from home experience, this bush lodge is stylishly furnished with classic furniture fashioned from local fabrics, timber and stone.

A wide variety of game can be spotted frequently visiting the waterhole in front of Ant’s Nest where horses and dogs abound, offering guests a unique safari experience. Ant’s Nest is surrounded by extensive gardens with indigenous flora surrounding the heated pool. Spend the hottest part of the day lounging on one of the large day beds in the thatched chill-out spot that overlooks the pool.

Ant’s Nest is a wonderful bush getaway for couples and honeymooners alike, who can enjoy the romantic options such as bush dinners and private dinners. Family safaris are also available at Ant’s Nest and children of all ages are welcome – making it the perfect family holiday destination.

Rooms

Ant’s Nest has six luxurious en-suite bedrooms, equipped with necessary amenities. Situated on the upper floor of the main house is a stunning honeymoon suite with an adjoining twin bedroom, dining, living room and private veranda. The downstairs area of the main house features a double and twin bedroom with a comfortable library, dining room and veranda. Two additional privately appointed bedrooms are situated away from the main house each with a double and single beds, their own large veranda and comfortable furniture.

Dining

Start your day with a light breakfast of cereals, fruits, yoghurt and toast or order a hearty cooked breakfast. A light lunch, including a variety of salads and other delicious dishes is served around midday, or enjoy a bush lunch after your morning game activities. Round off the day with a scrumptious three-course dinner or barbeque served with excellent South African wines. All meals at Ant’s Nest are home-cooked and chefs are able to cater for all dietary requirements.

Activities

Ant’s Nest provides adventurous game-viewing experiences which can be enjoyed on game drives, guided bush walks, mountain bike or horseback adventures – catering for experienced and novice riders. Relax during the heat of the day on a sofa bed in the thatched chill-out spot or cool off in the 15 metre pool. Ant’s Nest has special children activities and facilities such as pony rides, bug walks, a trampoline, sand pits, badminton and volley ball net, and a selection of toys and books.

Location

Ant’s Nest is situated on a private game reserve in the malaria-free Waterberg region in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. Located on an escarpment overlooking the Waterberg Plateau, Ant’s Nest offers the opportunity for some excellent game viewing in the African bush.
