Amakhala Woodbury Lodge is situated in the beautiful Amakhala Game Reserve and is set on a spectacular cliff above the Bushman’s River valley. Surrounded by the African bush, Woodbury Lodge offers guests an intimate and tranquil experience of the Eastern Cape riverine bushveld at its best.

Designed with great care to blend in with its natural surroundings, Woodbury Lodge boasts individual outdoor relaxation areas where guests can enjoy the unique breathtaking views surrounding the lodge.

The seclusion of Woodbury Lodge offers honeymooners the perfect getaway while the special children’s programme offered makes it an ideal family holiday. The lodge also has child minders to look after babies while parents enjoy their game activities.

Rooms

Woodbury Lodge has six comfortably appointed stone-and-thatch sleeping lodges, each with air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Offering privacy and seclusion, each room is set on its own and has a wooden deck where guests may enjoy sightings of the elephant herd passing by.

Dining

Breakfast is served outdoors on the deck of the dining room while guests enjoy the splendid views surrounding the lodge. Gather around the outdoor fire or in the bar lounge for drinks and snacks before enjoying a lovely meal of fresh local flavours served in a relaxed atmosphere in the central dining room. Children dine earlier than the parents and after dinner they have the opportunity to watch a video in the family room.

Activities

Woodbury Lodge offers night and day game drives, massage treatments, bird watching, canoeing, guided walks, picnic lunches and a river cruise. Children have their own activities designed especially for their age group. These activities include videos, baking, game drives, cultural education, environmental education and nature walks.
