The Alpine Health Resort offers the perfect family-friendly holiday setting boasting a large variety of entertainment and activities. Set in the midst of the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains, this resort allows you to relax in the comfort of an exclusive mountain village.

Situated in a World Heritage Site, the resort is the perfect base from which to explore the world’s finest walking trail attractions including the Drakensberg Amphitheatre, Tugela Falls (the World’s second highest waterfall) and Mont aux Sources - making it an ideal holiday destination for those looking for a scenic outdoors experience.

This charming resort houses a unique village square which comprises of the Salon, Chapel, Tavern Bar, Pizzarea, Kids Zone, Leisure Zone, Auditorium and Village Market where you can purchase curios and other supplies.

Rooms

The Alpine Health Resort has 100 luxurious 3 bed roomed chalets with their own private patio offering panoramic mountain views. The suites consist of a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom and 2 bedrooms fitted with twin beds that share a second bathroom.  To make your stay unforgettable the chalets are equipped with comfortable lounges, a fireplace for those romantic wintery nights, a kitchenette, satellite TV and an extensive range of toiletries. Safety deposit boxes and hairdryers are available at reception.

Dining

Alpine Health Resort’s onsite eateries offer a number of scrumptious offerings. Guests can choose between self-catering or enjoy the culinary delights of the resort’s La Gruyeres Restaurant which offers a generous buffet and A La Carte menu. Light snacks can be enjoyed on the terrace of the La Brasserie Tavern or savour the taste of typical Italian pizzas on weekends at Pizzarea. Prepare your favourite cuisine in the comfort of your own chalet by buying fresh produce from the local Village Market or indulge in traditional South African braai.

Activities

There are a wide variety of activities on offer at Alpine Health Resort catering for young and old alike. Ranging from indoor activities like board games, squash, table tennis, gym and spa treatments  to outdoor activities which include horse riding, hiking, helicopter flips, fishing, mountain biking, tennis, putt-put, swimming pools, volleyball, jungle gym, and trampolines.

Children will never have a dull moment at Alpine Health Resort. With a large variety of things to do, kids will enjoy fun and funky activities such as arts and crafts, Ping Pong, Fuzz Ball, Sony Playstation games and nature-related brain stimulating activities in the Kids Wow Lounge.

Location

The Alpine Health Resort is located in the heart of the Northern Drakensburg area in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal province. With the mountainous wonderland as a backdrop, guests may also see an abundance of wildlife roaming the area surrounding the Drakensburg Mountains.
