Azura is the country’s first luxury eco-boutique retreat. Built entirely by hand in partnership with the local community, it has just 15 villas, each with their own infinity pool and designed for your pampering and privacy.

With wonderful Mozambican cuisine and service, a vast range of activities and experiences, and unique African spa treatments in the comfort of your own villa, you have the perfect island getaway.

The pristine beauty of the National Park surrounds you. Miles of pure white sand that squeaks underfoot. Tranquil turquoise seas, crisscrossed by local dhows plying their trade. Swaying palms, gentle breezes. Endless sunshine by day, star-studded nights. A kaleidoscope of colour greets you above and below the ocean. Magnificent reefs, home to the turtles that nest nearby. Whales, dolphins, and the elusive and protected dugong. On land, towering sand dunes give way to indigenous bush abundant with local flora and fauna. And you are welcomed by a warm and friendly people, rich in culture, for which Mozambique is rightly famous.

But a visit to Azura is about more than this. More than the exquisitely designed villas that pander to your every need, the superb cuisine, or the friendly Mozambican service that you have come to expect.


Laze in the sun, or walk the miles of beach. Gaze at the dunes, or go and climb them. Spot dolphins swimming or learn about them. Watch the dhows sail by, or see the sun set from one. Fish for big game, or help the fishermen by eating their catch.

ROOMS

Our villas blend modern chic with all that is traditional in Mozambique. The creature comforts you would expect from a luxury boutique resort are there, set off by beautifully carved beams and traditional artwork beneath a local thatched jekka roof.

Each is just footsteps from the beach, yet designed with seclusion in mind. Nestled amidst the indigenous trees and bush, we have painstakingly created your own private sanctuary. A haven of rest and relaxation, where you can feel at one with the environment. A fusion of indoor and outdoor space where time becomes your own.

Wander down to the pristine white beach and welcoming azure sea beyond. Or lounge around on plump cushions and have your butler serve you tea. Tan in private beneath the swaying palms, and cool off in your sparkling plunge pool. Dine on your deck, or sip a cocktail in your beachside Sala as the sun goes down. Lie in your bath and gaze at the view, or shower beneath the stars. Do whatever you want to do. Our villas are a welcoming place to stay. You may not want to leave them at all.

Azura has 11 Infinity Beach Villas. They are furnished in contemporary style and look out over a stunning infinity pool towards the beach and sea beyond. Each has the following facilities:

DINING

Indulge your desires with our fine dining experience. Fresh local Mozambican produce, much of it home caught, put together with contemporary style and flair. Our international chef’s signature dishes will not disappoint, and nor will our extensive wine cellar, which usually includes fine wines flown direct from our owner’s chateau in France’s Loire Valley.

Where to eat is as much of a decision as what to eat. The main restaurant has magnificent uninterrupted views. Or we’ll pack a picnic of your choosing and whisk you off to a secluded spot. And nothing beats dining by candlelight on the beach beneath the stars.
