Kleine Zalze borders Stellenbosch Country Club and is opposite Stellenbosch Square, which offers shoppers an array of restaurants, boutiques and retail outlets.

The 300 hectare Winelands Golf Estate offers golfers and visitors the opportunity to enjoy on site wine tasting, picturesque accommodation, dining at Terroir Restaurant as well as relaxing on the terrace at the spectacular clubhouse where you can enjoy superb breakfasts and lunches.

This Golf Estate has proven to be one of the most sought after golf estate real estate investments in South Africa, having achieved record sales since 2002.

It’s been a spectacular year for the team at family-owned Kleine Zalze who’ve found themselves accepting multiple awards in recognition of their dedication to vinous excellence recently.

2007 Michelangelo International Wine Awards

Kleine Zalze received a spread of eight medals across various vintages, cultivars and styles. These were a prestigious Grand d’Or medal for the Vineyard Selection Chenin Blanc Barrel Fermented 2006, a Gold medal each for the Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Matured 2005 and Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2007, as well as four Silver medals.

Although the lodges offers all the regular comforts associated with a 4-star facility, all the suites also have kitchens or kitchenettes complete with microwave, Dish Washer, cutlery and crockery.

DINING

Terroir, Food from the Earth 

The Terroir is a relaxed and intimate winelands restaurant situated on the tranquil Kleine Zalze wine estate. It comprises of a 60-seater restaurant with additional seating outside under the oaks, together with a private venue suitable for weddings, conferences and launches.

In the same way that excellent wine is the product of its terroir, the menu at Terroir relies on the perfect ingredients to create what the two chefs, Michael and Nic call ‘deceptively simple’ food.

The Provencal-inspired chalkboard menu is dictated by the seasonal, fresh and organic produce from the region, as this was Michael’s dream: 'to create terroir-driven food matched with wines from the region’. ‘The emphasis will be on quality ingredients, whether farm fresh vegetables or organic pork. It’s the ideal food with which to contemplate the wine in your glass.’
