ROOMS
218 Deluxe and Superior rooms, as well as our 22 Premier and Executive suites have all been tastefully decorated to reflect the elegant Renaissance-style that has been carried throughout the rest of the hotel. The hotels's two Presidential Suites have a private dining room and lounge as well as 24-hour butler service for the more discerning guest.
All suites have private bathrooms with a separate shower and toilet, hairdryers, radio, colour TV, pay movie channel, 24-hour CNN and CNBC, individually controlled air conditioning, direct dialling phones, direct in and out dialling for personal fax/modem, Internet, electronic razor plug (220/110V), complimentary tea & coffee and mini bar.
For the guests security, all rooms are equipped with electric safes and smoke detectors with sprinkler systems.
DINING
The Michelangelo’s Executive Chef - Chef Bob Knuckey
Born in New Zealand, Bob Knuckey completed his chef’s training in the New Zealand Army. His training was classic European. He then packed his cooler bag and headed off to the Hyatt Kingsgate Hotel as the Chef de Partie for 2 years before he came to South Africa in 1986. Following some time with Southern Sun and the then Fedics Business Entertainment Services as Executive Chef, he then took over the Pomegranate Restaurant in Melville.
During the past few years, Bob has been involved in various special functions, from regional and national wine evening promotions, Melville Mardi Gras, SA Food Promotions. He was also a participant in the Gauteng Gourmet Week & Fleur du Cap Restaurant week in 2001 and in the Cape Gourmet Festival in 2002, to name just a few…
Always experimenting with new ingredients, Bob describes his food as “fresh, healthy, adventurous, bright and breezy.
