The Quarterdeck restaurant is uniquely housed in the old Convict Station building – a place with enough character to enjoy their renowned breakfast and Cape Malay cuisine. ROOMSThe 103 standard rooms offer views of either Table Mountain or the Table Bay harbour and are decorated to a nautical theme. They all have individual air-conditioning, television, direct dial phones, Internet access and a TV with satellite. The Portswood is also an ideal choice for the business traveller, with all the most sophisticated facilities he or she might need. Your room can easily be converted into an office away from the office - infra-red keyboards and additional phone lines for modem points are fitted. DININGThe Quarterdeck Restaurant occupies a section of the Original Breakwater Prison built in 1860. But no prison was ever this comfortable, or served such wonderful food! Patrons can sample a wide selection of mouthwatering local dishes at lunch or dinner created by chef Craig Paulse.
