GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Ideal for the Chobe experience without the crowds
  • The 8 Roomed Selinda Camp i slocated iwth in the Selinda Reserve, a 320,000 acres reserve that only has 3 small camps, and an incredible ration of 20,000 acres per room
  • One of Africa's most endangered predators, The Wild Dog, is resident in the Selinda area, and is one of the best areas than anywhere to see elephant, lion and leapard

The Selinda Reserve is a 320,000 acre private reserve that connects the Okavango Delta with the Linyanti/Kwando waterways, the river systems close to the eastern boundary of Chobe National Park. The Reserve follows the Selinda Spillway, a channel that can become a river in years of high floods to connect the Okavango to the waterways in the Chobe region some 100km away. Selinda Camp only has 8 guest tents, so the experience is personal, where only a handful of guests can experience a big game safari in the finest African tradition. Selinda Camp is owned and operated by Linyanti Explorations and is the sister camp to Zarafa Camp. Selinda is a derivative meaning "many small pools of water" in the Khoisan language of northern Botswana

Activities at Selinda Camp include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, as well as night drives with spotlights. Bush walks with an armed ranger are a specialty of Selinda Camp and if booked in advance, it is possible to enjoy half or full day canoeing safaris down the Selinda Channel (water levels permitting). The camp also offers superb bush breakfasts and dinners. At certain times of the year when water levels are high, guests may enjoy boating and fishing on the lagoon.

ROOMS

Selinda Camp has only 8 tents; each of the large, comfortable tents is under cool thatch, as is the ensuite bathroom complete with bath, shower and double vanities

DINING

Guests enjoy wholesome cuisine in the raised thatched dining area overlooking the Selinda Spillway.  Brunches are generally under thatch, whole dinners are usually enjoyed on the star deck. There is the traditional campfire, fireside bar and probably Botswana’s best wine cellar
