Day 1 - 4: Simbavati River Lodge, Timbavati Private Game Reserve

From Johannesburg International Airport, board a short flight to Hoedspruit Airport, where a South Africa 365 representative will be waiting to transfer you to Simbavati River Lodge.

Upon entering Simbavati River Lodge you will realize that you have arrived in Big-5 country! The expansive deck opens out onto the Nahlurumi River, where regular sightings of elephant and other wildlife are common.

The Timbavati Game Reserve (situated within the Greater Kruger National Park) offers excellent wildlife viewing and convenient access. Formed in 1962, the Timbavati  is 53,392 hectares of private land adjoining the Kruger National Park. Currently, there are over 40 mammal species in the Timbavati including the Big Five of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant as well as 360 species of bird life.

Simbavati River lodge is our choice for exceptional value for a private safari lodge. This is a child friendly lodge, and accommodation is offered in family chalets or luxury tents (an exhilarating experience!)

Early mornings and late afternoons are spent tracking fascinating wildlife, days are whiled away next to the swimming pool or lazing in the sun, and evenings are spent around the fire for a boma (outdoor) feast.

Following a magnificent 4 day safari, you will be transferred back to the Hoedspruit  for an onwards flight to Johannesburg.

Please note: Kruger safaris are a firm favorite amongst our clients, and by default the most popular length of stay is 3 nights. This can be shortened or lengthened depending on your requirements (although less than 2 nights is not worthwhile) This itinerary is often combined with destinations such as Cape Town, Bazaruto and Victoria Falls.
